The Effect of Education Given to Pregnant Women on Constipation-related Quality of Life and Severity of Constipation

Aim: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects education provided pregnant women with complaints constipation on their constipation-related quality life and severity.Methods: This randomized controlled experimental consisted an intervention group (n:32) a control (n:32). data were collected by using Personal Information Form, Constipation Severity Instrument Patient Assessment Quality Life Questionnaire. In analysis, frequency percentage calculations, chi-squared, Student’s t-test or Mann-Whitney U test Person’s correlation analysis used.Results: After education, in had lower mean total PAC-QOL score (49.42±4.19) CSI (19.40±2.62) than those (respectively, 74.00±5.47; 39.45±3.21) (p<0.001). Accordingly, who received fewer symptoms higher levels life. It determined among all participants that, as severity decreased, increased (p<0.01).Conclusions: As result experiencing constipation, women’s significantly increased. Nurses are recommended provide evidence-based care education.
